Q: How do I know which is the best slide for my event?

A: We have tried to make our web page as informative as possible to help you decide which slide will be best suited to your event. However, in many cases you will need advice from one of our staff members to determine exactly which slide/s will work best for your event and location. If you would like assistance, please arrange for one of our staff members to meet you at the event location to discuss options.

Q: How long do the slides take to set up?
A: The set-up times vary depending on the slide type, the slide length, the accessibility of the venue and many other variables. However, as a general rule, 2 hours should be allowed for set up and 2 hours for pack down.

Q: What access to the site do you need?
A: We generally need access to the venue at least 2 hours before the event start time. The slides and associated equipment are very heavy, so vehicle access to the event location is required for the Mega Mountain and prefered for all the other slides.

Q: What do I need to provide at my event to accommodate the water slides?
A: The specific site requirements for each slide are listed under the 'slides' section, however as a general rule you need to have a garden tap within 40m of the slide, a single phase electricity supply within 20m of the slide and vehicle access to the site. If you don’t have an electricity supply nearby, we can supply a generator for an additional cost.

Q: What happens if my event is cancelled due to bad weather?
A:
We understand that a lot of effort goes into planning events, and cancellation is not something that is taken lightly. We therefore will not penalise you if the weather does not work in your favour and the event has to be cancelled - providing you let us know before our operators leave home. If the event or the booking needs to be cancelled for any other reason, we ask that you inform us as early as possible so that we have the opportunity to hire the items elsewhere.

Q: Do you have a health and safety policy?
A: Yes, please let us know if you require a copy.

Q: Are your water slides made in New Zealand?
A:
Other than the base unit of the Mega Mountain, all of our water slides have been designed and made in New Zealand. The base unit of the Mega Mountain was imported from America and extensively modified to suit New Zealand conditions.

Q: How much water will the slide use?

A: Typically the slides use 4 litres of water per minute; equivalent to a garden tap at quarter flow. For sites that are charged for water usage, rates are less than 0.2 cents per litre (Auckland has a flat rate of 0.15 cents per litre), putting the cost of water consumption of the slide at approximately 36 cents per hour.

Q: Do the slides re-circulate the water they use?
A: No. The slides operate under a total loss system, so fresh water must continually be sprayed onto the slides to keep them wet and slippery.

Q: Will the water from the slide damage the ground at my venue?
A: Not generally. Although the water sprayed onto the slide will eventually find its way onto the ground, the quantity of water is small and is limited to the duration of the event. Walkway felts also help prevent the queuing area from becoming boggy. In locations with poor draining, or that are already water-logged, the ground can become a little boggy. 

Q: What areas do you service? Do we need to pay a delivery/mileage charge?
A: We generally service the greater Auckland area. Mileage is charged for each hire from our base in Pukekohe.

Q: How do I make a booking?
A: Typically, we will email you with a quote after an initial enquiry is made. If you are happy with the quote and wish to proceed with hire, just let us know. We will then confirm details of the booking with an email.

Q: Do I need to pay a deposit when I make a booking?
A: No. We will email or post you an invoice for the full value of the hire after the event has taken place.

Q: When do I pay?
A: Settlement of the invoice is expected within 14 days after the event. All costs incurred in the recovery of overdue funds, including but not limited to debt recovery charges and legal fees, may be added to the balance of your account.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: Payment can be made by cash, cheque or electronic bank deposit. Unfortunately we do not have eftpos or credit card facilities for waterslide hires. We do however have eftpos available at our Waterslide Mania events.
